Organic Coffee Walk. Near Arumeru River Lodge a group of local families is dedicated to produce top-quality “Organic” Coffee: an inspiring project to be explored on a 3 hour tour from our Lodge. This tour does not lead you to traditional industrial coffee plantation but to an alternative approach of producing high quality, pesticide free coffee in a rural community approach. While taking a relaxing downhill walk through peaceful tropical settings with views on Mt. Meru and Mt. Kilimanjaro you will learn the essentials of coffee growing and processing and also a lot about the everyday lives of the families in this beautiful area. This tour appeals to all senses: flavors of tropical flowers combine with freshly roasted coffee. Green banana competes with bougainvillea. The mission bell blends into sounds of village life. |
